Satellite TV and Radio
Satellite is increasingly used for digital coded transmission of televison and radio signals to general public and for special groups and purposes. A satellite transmission covers a big area (e.g. a whole country) while a ground TV tower covers a small area somewhere 100KM radius. It usually encoded in DVB-S Format. To receive the satellite tv and radio signals a parabolic dish and a set-top box plus a regular TV is required. The signal are transmitted in C or Ku Band range. Ku Band signal requires a 60-120 cm sized dish for reception. And for C band reception a bigger dish is required.
