DD Free DISH
DD Free DISH is a free direct to home service of satellite television and radio in India and primarily known as DD Direct +. It was launched on December 2004 by Prasar Bharati (Doordarshan) a government of India undertaking.
At the start the service was available from NSS 6 satellite, a privately owned commercial satellite which covered all of India except Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Then it was shifted to INSAT-4B satellite which is owned by Indian government. But a glitch in operation of INSAT-4B happened in July 7, 2010. So some of the parts became unoperational. But the DD Direct Plus service continued unaffected. On 1st, February 2016 the service was switched to GSAT-15 satellite, also a Indian government communication satellite. It covers all of India except Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
